Komets forward Eric Faille left the game for a spell in the third period, after he took a stick to the face that required stitches.
Right wing Garrett Meurs has made another great play and it has the Komets up 1-0 on the Indy Fuel after two periods at Memorial Coliseum. He had a wraparound attempt that was stopped by goalie Mac Carruth, but Meurs grabbed the rebound and fired it above the outstretched glove of the goalie.
The Komets and Indy Fuel are scoreless at Memorial Coliseum after one period, in front of a crowd of 6,798. However, the Komets had plenty of chances to score, namely: A Brett Perlini shot from close range; Mike Embach at the end of a 2-on-1 rush and a Paul Crowder 1-on-1 rush.
he Komets are 33-16-4 all-time on Thanksgiving. Fort Wayne is 3-0-0 against Indianapolis, which is winless in seven road games this season.
