Indiana hunters harvested a record 136,248 deer during 2012, the Department of Natural Resources said today.
The total harvest was 6 percent more than in 2011, and topped the previous record of 134,004 set in 2010, the DNR's Division of Fish & Wildlife said in a statement.
Regulation changes to make it easier to take antlerless deer may be working, said Mitch Marcus, wildlife chief for the division, in the statement.
