Notre Dame signed every player expected to join the Irish today.
The university announced that running back Tarean Folston, a 5-foot-10, 190-pounder from Cocoa, Fla., sent in his letter of intent at 3:37 p.m. Wednesday was the first day high school players could sign their national letters of intent.
Folston, who flirted with Auburn late in the recruiting process, hadn't signed his papers when Coach Brian Kelly introduced the class during a noon news conference.
Folston joins five-star running back prospect Greg Bryant as a recruit for the offensive backfield.
"They are similar style, but Bryant has 20 pounds on (Folston). I thought of Bryant as kind of a plodder. I like him, but like a 4.7 guy, 4.7 1/2 guy. Rudy Johnson type, who was very successful at Cincinnati," said Scott Kennedy, director of scouting at FoxSports.com.
"Compared to Derek Green and Derek Henry at the Army game, he looked like a scatback. He was quicker and shiftier, and I've said as many as the top 15 running backs this year could be a legit No. 1, that is how deep it goes. I think he's the guy who could end up being the best back in his class.
"Folston played a tough level of competition. He's a hard runner, plays both sides of the ball, they are very similar. Bryant is just a little bit more."
The Irish added 23 players in this recruiting class, with five players already enrolled at the university.
Notre Dame could still add one more player to what is projected to be a top five recruiting class.
Defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes, a five-star prospect from California, is expected to announce his decision at 8 tonight, and the Irish are in the mix to land him.
