Flooding, thunderstorms possible

Heavy rain, melting snow and frozen ground might add up to some flooding in northern Indiana and northwest Ohio during the next few days.

Northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio are under a flood watch, the National Weather Service in northern Indiana reported Monday morning, and 2 or 3 inches of rain might fall in some areas between now and Wednesday.

The region could also see isolated thunderstorms today, but the weather service said they are more likely to be in north-central Indiana and southwest lower Michigan.

Severe weather is not expected, but the weather service said areas of dense fog are possible tonight.

More rain and a chance of thunderstorms are in the forecast for Tuesday, when temperatures are expected to be near 60 degrees.

Winter weather is predicted to return late Wednesday or early Thursday.
