Statement as issued Thursday by HOPE for Animals:

FORT WAYNE, IN -- The HOPE for Animals program called Snip-by-Zip 46806, sponsored by PetSmart Charities, has now begun offering transportation services for Pit Bulls in 46806.

Each Sunday between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm HOPE will be at a different location in the 46806 zip code to pick-up Pit Bull type dogs for spay/neuter services. The dog will be dropped off to their owners at the same location between 4:00 and 6:00 pm on Mondays.

To qualify for this program you must have a Pit Bull and live in 46806.

The cost is $5.00 for spay/neuter surgery, microchip, registration, and vaccinations.

This Sunday, HOPE will be on Lafayette and Oxford at the Bait & Tackle between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. First-come, first-serve. Call for future locations at 260-420-7729 or go online at www.hope-for-animals.org.
