AKRON, Ohio – Authorities in northeast Ohio say a 4-year-old boy was fatally shot in the head while riding in a car with his father.
The Summit County medical examiner said Jamarcus Allen of Akron died about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Akron Children’s Hospital.
Police are trying to determine how the child was shot. His father was questioned by detectives.
A witness said the man flagged down a sheriff’s deputy and talked briefly before the officer grabbed the boy and put him in an ambulance.
The Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/10Jm5Fp) reports that a single gunshot hole through the roof of the car was clearly visible and may have resulted from a shot fired from inside the sedan.
