A Butler man was arrested Wednesday after officers responding to a domestic dispute found a marijuana growing operation in his home, police said.
Jack L. Porter, 47, was arrested on felony charges of possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, possession of over 30 grams of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.
Porter is also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and dealing marijuana.
Butler police went to Porters home at 340 N. Park Lane about 3:10 p.m., responding to a reported domestic dispute. Officers noticed a marijuana cigarette and received permission to search the home, police said.
During the search, officers found a marijuana growing operation including lights, timers and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Porter was being held at the DeKalb County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail.
