Komets defeat Gwinnett

Corey Elkins scored in the third period of his first game with the Komets, as he was pulled down from behind, and it proved to be the game-winner in a 4-2 victory over the Gwinnett Gladiators.

Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock added an empty-net goal in front of 5,429 fans at Memorial Coliseum.

Thomas Beauregard scored twice for Fort Wayne, which was playing the first of four games in five nights.

Elkins, a former NHL player, had just been assigned to Fort Wayne by Norfolk of the American Hockey League.
