Fort Wayne firefighters Tuesday put out a predawn fire at a vacant or abandoned two-story duplex on Wilt Street.
No one was injured in the 6:27 a.m. fire, which was under control 18 minutes later, the Fort Wayne Fire Department said in a statement.
Firefighters were called to 829 Wilt St. on a reported structure fire, the statement said. It said they found fire showing from the back and smoke coming from the second floor.
The fire was confined to a bathroom and dining room, the statement said. A search determined the house was not occupied.
The house sustained moderate smoke damage and minor fire and water damage, the statement said. The fire remains under investigation.
