A 55-year-old New Haven man was killed late Wednesday when he was hit by a train, the Allen County coroner said.
Clark Wilbur Fagan was struck and killed by a train in the 500 block of Broadway Street in New Haven about 11:45 p.m. He died of blunt-force trauma and his death was ruled accidental, the coroner said.
Fagans death is Allen Countys 36th traffic fatality this year, according to the coroners office.
Witnesses said Fagan was walking along the road and stopped and leaned in toward the train as it passed, said Scott Adam, a New Haven Police Department spokesman.
The case remains under investigation.
