Two men who led police on a high-speed chase last month have been linked to a home burglary and vehicle theft, according to the Warsaw Police Department.
Spencer Miller, 21, of Mentone and Charles Coffelt, 21, of Warsaw were in a pickup truck Thanksgiving Day, fleeing from Goshen police officers, Warsaw police said.
When the truck crashed, Coffelt, a passenger, got out and fled on foot. Miller then drove off and was caught after crashing a second time. Coffelt initially got away, but police later found him.
An investigation revealed the two had broken into the garage of a Warsaw home and stolen the truck, a 1996 Chevrolet, along with $1,000 worth of tools, two guns, a laptop computer and several bottles of booze, police said.
In Kosciusko County, Miller and Coffelt were each charged with three felonies: burglary, theft and auto theft.
Miller was being held at the Elkhart County Jail for his alleged part in the November pursuit.
Coffelt was expected to turn himself in coming days.
