Fort Wayne Community Schools will host a parent meeting tonight at 6 p.m. at Anthis Career Center to inform parents of the dangers of dating violence.
Recent legislation known as Heather’s Law requires schools to teach students about teen dating violence and how to develop safe, appropriate relationships.
Megan Wilson of the Fort Wayne Women’s Bureau will be the guest speaker.
She will discuss how to spot warning signs that a teen is in a dangerous relationship, how to talk to teens about safe dating and what support services are available in the community.
For parents unable to attend this meeting, a second meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Jan. 16, also at Anthis Career Center.
