MEROM – Indiana State Police investigating the death of an 85-year-old retired farmer in rural western Indiana say he was fatally shot and that the death has been ruled a homicide.
Police said an autopsy Monday determined the cause and manner of death of Lowell Badger of rural Merom, whose son discovered his body Saturday.
Police also now say definitively that electronics and other items were found missing from Badger’s home about 30 miles south of Terre Haute.
Police said they’ve questioned various people in connection with the case but no arrests are imminent.
They have asked anyone who might have seen anything suspicious in the Merom area Friday night or Saturday morning to call the Putnamville state police post at 765-653-4114.
