Power outage hits Noble, Whitley counties

An animal gnawed an overhead power line, interrupting service to at least 450 Frontier Communications customers in Noble and Whitley counties on Thursday, an official said.

The outage occurred around 11 a.m., according to Frontier spokesman Roscoe Spencer. He said crews were working to splice the line back together and estimates restoration by 7 p.m.

Deputies at the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department said some parts of Churubusco reported having its power restored around 3 p.m., but other customers are still without service.

Noble and Whitley counties are home to more than 81,000 residents.
