FORT WAYNE – The Allen County Coroners Office has ruled that a womans death in September at her home was the result of injuries she suffered in a crash at Tonkel Road and Indiana 1.
Gladys M. Dye, 69, of Fort Wayne was a passenger in a vehicle involved in the crash Sept. 25 in northern Allen County, the coroners office said Friday.
Dye, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated at a hospital and released. The next day, she was found unresponsive in her home, and medics pronounced her dead.
An autopsy revealed that she died from blunt-force injuries suffered in the accident, the coroners office said.
Born in McKeesport, Pa., Dye was a bank teller with Wells Fargo for 25 years before she retired.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard Dye, along with a brother, two sons, a daughter, eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Her death is the countys 34th traffic fatality this year.
