Coach: Jim Kessler, 37th season

2011-12 record: 24-8

Top returnees: G Bruce Grimm Jr., F Greg Miller, G Elliot Smith

Season outlook: The Lancers claimed the MCC championship last season in a 79-75 victory over Saint Francis, but lost in the first round of the NAIA tournament to Briar Cliff, 59-56. Three of the top four scorers return, including All-Conference guard Grimm, who averaged 18.2 points and 4.3 assists last season. Greg Miller (11.7 points) and Elliot Smith (8.8) also return. Other players from last year’s team returning are Dennis Williams, Karl Columbus, Tannan Peters and Lee Ross.



Coach: Ty Platt, fifth season

2011-12 record: 17-14

Top returnees: F Shane Merryman, F TJ Short, G Tyler Ault

Season outlook:Huntingtonopened last season by winning eight of its first 10 games, but losing seven of its final 11, including a 67-66 heartbreaker to Saint Francis in the MCC tournament. The Foresters lost leading scorer Caleb Kennedy, but return No. 2 scorer Shane Merryman, who averaged 14.3 points and 8.1 rebounds. Forward TJ Short (9.3 points) and guard Tyler Ault (6.1) are starters returning. Others coming back to contribute are Alec Peterson and Tyler Palmer.



Coach: Al Grushkin, third season

2011-12 record: 23-8

Top returnees: F Melvin Brooks, G Jordan Hickman, G Jeff Hoskins

Season outlook: Defense will be the name of the game for the Warriors again. Last season Indiana Tech was second in the NAIA in points allowed with 59.39, and that will probably be the emphasis this year. Hickman and Brooks will be the two that make the Tech offense go. Brooks, a 6-5 senior, averaged 10.5 points last season, while Hickman, a 6-3 senior, averaged 9.8 points and 3.2 assists. Antonio Cannon also returns at guard for Tech.



Coach: Brad Nadborne, eighth season

2011-12 record: 11-14

Top returnees: G Greg Flores, G Caleb Jackson, G Grant Newlin

Season outlook: With the exception of 6-5 senior forward David House, the rest of theManchester’s basketball roster is comprised of sophomores and freshmen. The Spartans lost their top two scorers last season in Jordan Moss and Jason Spindler, who combined for nearly 28 points. Sophomore guard Flores started 13 games and averaged 8.0 points and 2.3 rebounds. Jackson, a 6-5 guard, averaged 4.5 points and had 13 starts, and the 5-9 Newlin averaged 4.4 points and started 16 times.



Coach: Brooks Miller, second season

2011-12 record: 15-11

Top returnees: G Ian Jackson, F Scott Rogers, G Braden Knight

Season outlook: With Jackson and Rogers, the team’s top two scorers return.Jacksonaveraged 18.3 points and 2.6 assists, whileRogersaveraged 13.7 points and 4.9 rebounds. Sophomore guard Braden Knight also started and averaged 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds. The Thunder led the MIAA last season in free throw percentage and turnover margin. Also returning are Dustin Hall and Neil Smith
