Dogs killed after attacking people in Fort Wayne

Two dogs running at large Wednesday afternoon attacked at least three people including a child, according to Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control.

The attacks happened near the intersection of Warsaw and Wiebke streets, said Belinda Lewis, the agency’s director.

Lewis said police responded and killed the dogs, a pit bull and another that appeared to be a pit bull-beagle mix.

Michael Gillespie, a spokesman for Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, said a boy and a man were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. A woman suffered minor injuries and was not hospitalized, Gillespie said.

Lewis said there were reports of a fourth victim but authorities did not come across that person.
