Morris makes news
A day after State Rep. Bob Morris’ misinformed attack on the Girl Scouts went viral and made national news, the fallout will very likely continue today. Look for some commentators and news outlets to set the record straight – or at least give more perspective to the allegations Morris made.
As for Morris, he will need to decide whether to back off his remarks or defend them, an act that would probably deepen the hole he has already dug. He may well opt for a third choice and say nothing more.
If you haven’t read the letter he sent that prompted the controversy, find it here:

Council and water
This evening the Fort Wayne City Council will most likely adopt a new water rate plan that preserves the proposed 40 percent increase but spreads it over three years instead of two.
Legislative calendar
Indiana lawmakers are poised to take a big step backward by giving school board members permission to discuss school consolidation in secret.
The state Senate already voted 46-4 to add school consolidation to the list of topics public boards may discuss in private, and the bill is up for a final vote in the House today.
Indiana law generally requires meetings to be open, but already includes too many exceptions.
Separate bills that would limit nepotism and conflict of interest in local government are eligible for second-reading amendments in both the House and Senate today, as both chambers have a full calendar.

With luck, Stutzman will be able to update his constituents on the ever-changing VA plans for its local medical facilities.
